Short answer
Stop retrying the same prompt. Roll back to the version just before the bug appeared, ask the AI to investigate and plan before it builds again, and change one thing at a time. If the bug comes back after a rollback, or it’s in sign-in, payments or who can see which data, bring in a person who reads the code.
What each builder says to do
01
Lovable: investigate, roll back, then plan
“Switch to Plan mode and ask Lovable to outline an approach first.” Lovable, Troubleshooting
Lovable’s troubleshooting guide says that when an error keeps coming back, work through a few steps instead of resending the request: ask Lovable to investigate, roll back to the version just before the issue appeared, then switch to Plan mode so it outlines an approach you can check before it builds.
02
Lovable: the free Try to fix attempts
“After you have used all 10, Try to fix still works and is treated as standard build usage and consumes credits.” Lovable, Troubleshooting
Your account includes 10 free fixes across Try to fix and Security view fixes, shared across your workspaces and projects, and each comes back 24 hours after you use it. After all 10 are used, Try to fix still works but uses credits, so try the steps above before spending them on the same failed fix.
03
Bolt: clear the context, one change at a time
“If Bolt becomes stuck or stops responding to commands, clearing the context can often resolve the issue.” Bolt, Troubleshooting
Bolt’s help suggests clearing the context when it gets stuck, working on one feature or section at a time, and restoring an earlier version when something breaks. A version restore doesn’t change your database, so a bug in the data has to be fixed there.
04
Replit: start a fresh thread with a summary
“If a thread has mixed too many unrelated decisions, Agent may pay attention to old context that no longer matters.” Replit, Context management
Replit says long conversations can drift. Start a new thread and summarize what still matters instead of assuming Agent remembers. You can roll back to a checkpoint, but by default that doesn’t restore the database, and production data needs a separate restore.
05
When it’s time for a person
The bug comes back after a rollback, each fix breaks something else, or the problem is in sign-in, payments or who can see which data. A developer reads the code, finds the cause and adds a test so the fix stays fixed.
